Privacy Policy

Genuwin (“we”, “us”) is a UK price-comparison service. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights over it. The data controller is [your legal name / business name and address]. Contact us any time at hello@genuwin.co.uk.

What we collect

• Your waitlist email address — if you join the pre-launch waitlist, we store the email address you give us so we can tell you when Genuwin opens. We also record the time you signed up, your IP address and your browser's user-agent string, solely to detect spam and abuse of the sign-up form. These are stored in our database (Supabase).
• Confirmation of that email — we send one email asking you to confirm the address is yours, and record whether and when you confirmed. We do not add you to the list until you do. You can ask us to remove you at any time using the address below.
• Your searches — the product names you type or the phrases you enter, plus the budget, condition and priority you choose, so we can return results.
• Photos you upload — when you search by image, the photo is sent to Google's Gemini AI to identify the product. We do not store your uploaded photos on our servers; they are used only to generate a search and then discarded.
• Account details — if and when accounts become available, your email address and login credentials (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase). We never see or store your raw password.
• Basic usage data — a local counter in your browser (for guests) to apply fair-use search limits. This stays on your device.

We do not run advertising trackers, sell your data, or send marketing emails you didn't ask for.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf. We do not sell your data to anyone.

• Supabase — our database and (in future) authentication provider. Waitlist email addresses are stored here. Data is held in the EU.
• Resend — our email provider. We pass your email address to Resend so it can deliver your confirmation email and, at launch, the email telling you we are live. Sending is handled in the EU.
• Google (Gemini AI) — to identify products from photos and generate explanations. Governed by Google's privacy terms.
• Vercel — our hosting provider, which processes standard web-server request logs.
• Retailers & affiliate networks — when you click through to buy, standard affiliate tracking may set a cookie so the retailer can credit the sale to us. See the Affiliate Disclosure below.

How long we keep it

Waitlist email addresses are kept until launch and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to delete yours — whichever comes first. The IP address and user-agent recorded with a sign-up are anti-abuse data and are not used for anything else.

Cookies

We use only what's necessary to run the service and to enable affiliate tracking when you click a retailer link. We do not use advertising or cross-site profiling cookies.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to stop processing it, by emailing hello@genuwin.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Terms of Service

What Genuwin is

Genuwin is a comparison tool. We search UK retailers and rank options by price, quality and value. We are not the seller — every purchase is a contract directly between you and the retailer you buy from.

Prices and availability

Prices, delivery costs, stock and product details are provided by third-party retailers and are shown as they were at the time of your search. They can change at any time. We make every effort to be accurate but cannot guarantee that a price or listing is current, correct, or still available when you click through — always confirm the final price on the retailer's own page before buying.

Our recommendations

Our rankings are generated by an automated scoring system. They are guidance, not professional or personalised advice. For categories such as beauty and fashion, our system cannot judge personal factors like skin type, allergies or fit — please read the on-page advisories and the retailer's information before buying.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Genuwin is not liable for the products, prices, delivery, returns, or conduct of any retailer, nor for any loss arising from a purchase you make through a link on our site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence).

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service — no automated scraping, no attempts to break or overload it, and no unlawful use. We may limit or withdraw access if it's abused.

Changes & governing law

We may update these terms; the “last updated” date above shows when. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Questions: hello@genuwin.co.uk.

Affiliate Disclosure

Genuwin is free to use and funded by affiliate commission. When you click through to a retailer and buy, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same as going to the retailer directly.

Genuwin is pre-launch and we are not currently earning commission from any retailer. When we launch we intend to work with the eBay Partner Network, the AWIN network and Amazon Associates, subject to their approval. This page will be updated to name the programmes we are actually part of before any commission is earned.

Crucially: commission never affects how we rank results. The cheapest, best-value and best-quality picks are chosen purely by our scoring algorithm — not by who pays us the most. Where possible, all our retailers pay commission, so we have no reason to favour one over another. We run no paid placements or sponsored results.
